About Us

The Goizueta Investment Management Group (GIMG) is a student-managed investment fund at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. We are a group of undergraduates that invest and manage a portion of Emory’s endowment. In addition to our investment activities, we are extremely passionate about using our resources to help teach financial literacy to underserved youth in the Atlanta area.

Our organization currently manages two funds:

  • GIMG Equity Fund ($100,000 raised in 2011) – invests in long-only, U.S. equities
  • GIMG Fixed Income Fund ($100,000 raised in 2015) – invests in U.S. treasuries, agencies, munis, and investment grade corporate bonds

History

Our group was founded in 2011, as the result of an effort by Corey Moore (BBA ’12) and Shawn Shivalkar (BBA ’11) who teamed up with administration to launch GIMG. The vision for the group started a few years before with a generous donation from one of our most notable Goizueta alumni. From our humble beginnings as a small student group, GIMG has become one of the premier extra-curricular experiences at Goizueta. Over this time, our interest in financial markets and our passion for the community have only grown stronger. In 2014, GIMG became a member organization of the Goizueta Finance Group, and in 2015, we successfully raised and launched a second GIMG fund, focusing on Fixed Income.

Our Team

At GIMG, our success hinges on our team. We have been able to attract top talent by building an organization that provides an unparalleled learning experience and prepares our members for successful futures in finance and beyond. We are constantly looking for motivated undergraduates who are interested in joining our team and gaining this experience. Apply Now
